Autism Support Program (ASP)

WVU Autism Support Program is a fee-for service program through the Office of Student Accommodations that is focused on supporting WVU students with autism spectrum disorder as they navigate college life.

Please note that the Autism Support Program is not designed to create equal access within the classroom environment and therefore is not an accommodation. Students may be able eligible to receive funding through the West Virginia Department of Rehabilitation Services or their home state office of vocational rehabilitation.

The Autism Support Program focuses on four main domains:

Academic Support

  • Advocacy and Referral Services
  • Weekly Student Check-In
  • Assignment Checks on eCampus
  • Facilitate meetings with student and faculty or staff
  • Weekly ASP 101 Course

Executive Functioning Skills

  • Individualized Assignment Tracker
  • Goal Setting and Reflection
  • Individualized Weekly and Monthly Calendar
  • Weekly ASP 101 Course
  • Access to ASP Sensory Room

Social Skills

  • 1:1 Peer Mentor
  • Weekly Peer Group
  • Monthly Social Event or Outing
  • Access to ASP Lounge
  • ASP Group Me
  • Weekly ASP 101 Course

Independent Living Skills

  • RA Check-In
  • Weekly ASP 101 Course
  • Workshops
